This notice transparently describes the data actually processed by the app, based on the services it integrates. Before publishing it, have it reviewed by a legal/privacy professional: it is not a substitute for legal advice and may need adjustments depending on your country, your company, and future changes to the app.
BeatPad is developed and published by an independent developer, who acts as the data controller for the data described in this notice.
BeatPad does not require creating an account, logging in, or entering any personal details to be used. All core features (Live Sampler, Presets, sample editing) work entirely offline, on the device.
Live Sampler mode requires microphone access to record the sounds that are then assigned to the pads. Besides recording, you can also populate a pad by importing an existing audio file — in any common audio format — from your device's file storage or from a connected cloud provider (e.g. iCloud Drive), using the system's file picker.
Whether a sample comes from the microphone or from an imported file, it stays saved exclusively on your device's local storage and is never uploaded to any server: BeatPad has no cloud service of its own for samples. Deleting a sample in the app permanently removes the corresponding file from your device.
BeatPad uses Google's Firebase services (Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Remote Config) to understand how the app is used, detect and fix errors, and manage some settings remotely. These services may automatically collect:
This data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
BeatPad does not integrate any third-party advertising SDKs: you will not see ads inside the app.
Audio samples and pad settings stay on your device until you delete them yourself, uninstall the app, or overwrite them by recording a new sound. Diagnostic data collected via Firebase is retained according to Google/Firebase's own retention policies.
BeatPad is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please reach out through the app's App Store listing so it can be removed.
Depending on applicable law (e.g. GDPR for users in the EU), you may have the right to request information about the data processed, its deletion, or a restriction on its processing. Since BeatPad does not collect direct identifying data (name, email, account), most such requests concern the diagnostic data handled by Firebase.
This page may be updated in the future, for example when new features or new integrated services are added to the app. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the most recent version.
